Whimsical Sweet Sixteen Celebration

The event I am sharing today is from a sweet sixteen celebration I helped plan and style this past November. My client had reached out to me regarding my low-lying picnic tables and cushions. Her daughter was interested in decor that centered around a pink and whimsical princess theme. Her inspiration images featured a cascade of flowers and candles across the table, complemented by lovely floral prints. Upon viewing these photos and hearing my client's ideas, I realized this was the kind of party I would have loved as a young girl approaching her sixteenth birthday. I was thrilled to take these concepts and turn them into something stunning.
I provided my client with a mockup, which I refer to as a vision board. This helps me transform the client's ideas and inspiration photos into a visual depiction of their event vision. Crafting the vision board enables me to showcase various ideas, providing my client with decor options that align with their budget. From the perspective of a client, it can be overwhelming to sift through the plethora of ideas on Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media platforms and wonder how these can be realized affordably. This is where I step in with the vision board to demonstrate that their vision can be transformed into an affordable reality.

Florals played a crucial role in the design inspired by the photos sent by my client. To achieve a more regal and princess-like appearance, I opted to use floral prints subtly by incorporating them into the napkins instead of floral tablecloths. For the table linens and runner, I considered the blend of textures commonly seen in royal garments. I selected a stunning velvet blush pink runner and a white tablecloth overlay made of soft tulle, adorned with delicate embroidered flowers and pearls throughout. To infuse a touch of royalty, reminiscent of the jewels on crowns and jewelry, I included items with gold accents, like the candlesticks and plates. I also discovered votive candle holders with glass cuts that resembled the facets of jewels in a crown or piece of jewelry.
Regarding the floral arrangements, there was no hesitation in choosing pink as the color. I had offered several options, including the pink ranunculus and stock shown in the photo above, along with various pink shades of carnations. We eventually settled on hot pink carnations and light pink baby's breath to add a more vibrant pink hue to the table.
An essential part of the celebration involved arranging the decor for the candle ceremony. We opted for tall tapered candles in various shades of pink, set in gold candlestick holders. To ensure a unified design, we used the same linens and runners from the picnic tables on this table. Additional elements featured geometric glass terrariums with gold trim, fairy lights, and a floral garland draped across the table. The aim for the table's decor was to create a fairytale garden ambiance, reminiscent of a fairy princess storybook. It provided the extra touch of whimsy the birthday girl desired and tied back to the inspiration photos she had shared with the focus on the florals.
Here are some photos showcasing the final look from the birthday party. Both my client and her daughter were thrilled with the outcome. I was delighted to create exactly what they wanted for the celebration.
We appreciate your visit and would love to hear how we can sprinkle some of our magical confetti on your event!
